Hey everyone, I decided to put fl studio onto my desktop instead of using it on my laptop because it over heats a lot now. Anyway on my laptop i use fl 9 and it never crackles and the cpu load rarely goes over 50% (this is a 2.0 ghz dual core and around 4 years old) and the buffer length is at the highest so that i can use it without annoying stuttering and crackling.
However when i put it on my pc (which has a 3.4 ghz quad in it) i was hoping for it to run a lot better than on my laptop but instead it is pretty much un-usable. It hits around 70% cpu load and crackles/stutters when playing a kick, a snare and a 3xosc. I've tried lowering the buffer length to the highest (8000 and something) and switching to the asio4all sound driver. This made the under-runs go from 2000 to around 20 but it is still stuttering like mad. I don't understand why its and wondering if anyone knew if it has anything to do with needing a new soundcard. But in both my laptop and pc i dont have a dedicated soundcard but the laptop has worked. RAM should also not a problem as laptop has 4gb and pc has 8gb. So just asking if anyone knows if this is a soundcard problem or just something I'm doing wrong? cheers in advance
(Side note: I think it might be necessary to have installed ASIO4ALL when installing FL Studio for this to work) 4. Try every one of those input sources and find one which picks your Guitar. On mine all three do pick up the guitar but the mono ones sound a tad better compared to the stereo one. All this happens external to FL Studio, so the switch has no effect on the internal processing, it's all post-FL Studio audio handling. NOTE: While your experience may vary, in situations where low latency performance is critical, we recommend you preference drivers in this order - Native ASIO driver ASIO4ALLv2 FL Studio ASIO. Once you’ve made these two adjustments, you will stop getting the ‘extra sounds’, in most of the cases. But if the problem is due to buffer underruns then there are some steps which you need to perform to solve this issue. Navigate to Audio settings and select FL Studio ASIO in the Device drop-down menu.
/free-brass-sound-kits-for-fl-studio.html. If there's still no sound then open the advanced settings of the asio4all control panel and here check 'always resample 44.1kHz - 48 KHz'. This trick still should fix possible sample rate incompatibilities. But this is very rare. We never had an issue using asio4all at 44,1 kHz although windows is using 48 kHz for system sound.
